Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc. is pleased to announce that Cara Tackett, P.E., LEED AP, Senior Vice President, was awarded the RECSA Philip M. Barshop Founder’s Award on January 23, 2018 at the RECSA Philip M. Barshop Founder’s Luncheon. This prestigious award is given annually in honor of Philip Barshop, one of RECSA’s founders, in recognition of individuals who demonstrate leadership and community involvement as well as advocate for the local real estate industry.
With more than 21 years’ experience in Civil Engineering and Environmental services, Ms. Tackett has been an integral part of many successful projects, such as the JW Marriot Resort and TPC San Antonio, the Hyatt Hill Country Resort and Spa, the Cibolo Canyons master-planned community, the Witte Museum, the San Antonio Zoo, and the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Ms. Tackett currently serves as the 2018 President-elect for the Real Estate Council of San Antonio and the 2017-2018 Chair of Professional Engineers in Private Practice. She is a former member of the Executive Leadership Team for the American Heart Association Go Red for Women. She is also a graduate of Leadership San Antonio Class of 37 and former participant in the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Lab Program. Ms. Tackett is an active member in several professional organizations such as the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.

Ms. Tackett earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992, and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University in 1996. She is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas and is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certified.
